Women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

The power of the sport

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is an amazing martial art that can positively impact your life, like most things, if you regularly practice. Everyone is busy with life, work, family, school and all the things that keep us too busy to enjoy “off time”. I can’t encourage you enough to find this off time so that you can decompress and let go of whatever has happened during your day.  One of the reasons why this sport has helped me personally is because it really isn’t possible to be thinking about the stressors that exist outside of the mats while I am practicing. It’s a place I go when I want to concentrate, work hard, learn about myself and grow.

Importance of women’s classes

All throughout our lives women have a chance to play sports with and against each other. We offer separate women’s classes because women deserve the opportunity to train together. These classes give women the opportunity to train with other women who will more likely be compatible in size, strength and temperament.  I appreciate that I have an opportunity to equally look at my strengths and weaknesses in a safe environment of women who truly want to learn the art of this sport. Our students have team camaraderie without drama or ego and we have a lot of fun training together.  Womens Summer Beach TrainingEnd of year promotion - womens BJJ

Curriculum

The curriculum of our women’s program focuses mainly on the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As such we abide by the rules and regulations of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation so that our students are able to fairly advance in their practice. Not surprisingly, BJJ is commonly taught to women as a self defense because it involves ground work and utilizes leverage instead of strength. It really is a sport that can teach you how to plan ahead, accomplish your goals and be more productive overall at what you put your mind to.
